Courtesy Enrollment

Recently the Astoria School District revised the courtesy enrollment policy to include the following;  students returning to Astoria School District from outside the district need to renew their courtesy enrollment when a student changes level (Elementary to Middle School and Middle School to High School).  This means beginning with the 2012-2013 school year,  you are only required to renew the courtesy enrollment form if your child is moving from 2nd to 3rd grade, 5th to 6th grade, or 8th to 9th grade.

As a reminder, students who are not residents of the Astoria School District may be asked to go back to the resident school district if class sizes are too large, a student is not meeting the behavior expectations, or a student has poor attendance.

Please choose from the forms below for the appropiate school year.

Free and Reduced Lunches

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in more than 101,000 public and nonprofit private schools and residential child-care institutions. Established under the National School Lunch Act and signed into law by President Harry Truman in 1946, the NSLP provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost and free lunches to more than 30 million children each school day. The meals must be offered for free or at a reduced-price for eligible children. They also must meet the Federal nutrition requirements in line with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which is updated every five years.

Free and Reduced Lunch Program Application Process

Family’s needing assistance with lunches for the 2012/2013 school year are required to fill out a Free and Reduced application even if you qualified the previous school year. You can pick up an application at all school offices or the Office of Instructional Services (located at Astoria Middle School). You can print an application (see below), fill it out and return to your child’s school, or click on Free and Reduced online application  which will take you to a secure site for an electronic application that you can submit online. If you have children attending more than one school in our district, you will only need to fill out one application with all your students names listed.

Please Call Mary Smith @ 503.325.0476 for any questions or concerns.

Internet Agreement Handbook

The school district is pleased to offer Internet services for its students.  The Internet is a global network that will provide your child with access to a wide range of information from throughout the world. Your child will also be able to communicate with people from throughout the world. Use of the Internet for educational projects will assist in preparing your child for success in life and work in the 21st Century.

Before we can allow your student to access the internet we need to have a signed agreement form on file.  The agreement form acknowledges that you have read the district's Internet and Computer Use Handbook.  After reading the handbook, please print out and sign the parent agreement form and then return it to your student's main office.

Google Agreement Form

google logoGoogle Apps for Education runs on an Internet domain purchased and owned by Astoria School District and is intended for educational use. This permission form describes the responsibilities of the school, students and parents in using Apps for Education on the Astoria School District domain.

Before we can issue a Google account to our students, we must have a signed agreement from the parent/guardian and the student.    Please return the signed form to your student's school office.  You can print the form through this link.
